cv
Isa Schieche lives and works as a visual artist and filmmaker in Vienna and Upper Austria. She creates
participatory objects and installations out of wood. In her sculptural and filmic work, she
addresses folklore and crafts, sisterhood and queerness.
In 2024 Isa Schieche received the Max Ophüls Preis - Best Short Film for “Die Räuberinnen”
and the Dorothea-von-Stetten Art Prize. She was part of the program board of the Festival der
Regionen, which will take place in Braunau am Inn, June 2025.
Past exhibitions were: Gossip as a Lesbian Practice at Fox Vienna (2025), Dirty Care at Kunstmuseum Bonn (2024), Die Räuberinnen at Pilot Vienna (2023).
Her films were screened at film festivals like SXSW-Texas, BFI Flare London, Diagonale
Graz, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Frameline48 San Francisco and Dokfest Kassel
