Tools and Fools of Resistance
Communale 2026, Pram
On September 19, exactly 400 years after the peasant uprising in Pram, Oskar Mayböck and Isa Schieche performed as part of Communale 2026. From a feminist perspective, they interwove populist rhetoric of agitational language with baroque instrumentation and contemporary pop music while focusing on the role of female farmers.
Growing up in the region, the perfomance draws from personal anecdotes to situate individual experiences within broader historical and contemporary sociopolitical contexts in regard to feudalism, Catholicism, patriarchy and the distribution of wealth.
